Three Things to Watch
- Nvidia earnings will be one of the main focuses this week. The world’s largest company by market capitalization reports on Wednesday amid questions around capital expenditure spending for the tech mega caps. However, most analysts remain bullish on the company, with more than 30 upward earnings revisions versus one negative revision.
- President Trump will give his State of the Union address Tuesday night after the recent Supreme Court decision on tariffs and amid escalating tensions with Iran. He is expected to highlight the resilient U.S. economy, immigration enforcement efforts and foreign policy.
- Economic data is highlighted by consumer confidence for February. Consumer confidence has been falling since President Trump was elected in late 2024, despite declining inflation and record stock market closes. The Consumer Confidence Index now stands at the lowest level since summer 2014.
