Three Things to Watch

  • Nvidia will report earnings on Wednesday. The world’s largest company and a bellwether in the tech and artificial intelligence (AI) space, Nvidia earnings reports have become market-moving events. With concerns over valuations and some recent weakness in the AI trade, this earnings report bears close scrutiny.
  • Major U.S. retailers Target, Home Depot and Walmart also report this week, and investors will pay close attention to any narrative concerning the strength of the consumer.
  • And finally, with the shutdown ending, economic data will again be released. The September employment report is scheduled to be published on Thursday. The White House indicated last week that the October jobs report (along with other October data) may never be released.
