After sitting down with his wife and a financial professional to work on their own financial plan, Matt Clooten knew that he made the right decision in 2007 to leave his leadership position in the pharmaceutical industry after nine years to join the financial consultant training program at brokerage firm A.G. Edwards.  Working for Pfizer as a district manager sharpened Matt’s business acumen and made it clear to him how much he valued strong client relationships.  He knew that the process of working with his clients and developing strategies that would help them achieve their financial goals would energize him.

In 2010, Matt joined Benjamin F. Edwards & Co., a firm that is committed to providing top-notch, client-first service, while also adhering to the Golden Rule.  As a financial consultant at Benjamin F. Edwards & Co., Matt can provide a wide-range of services, from helping define a financial approach that suits the unique needs of his clients, to selecting the individual investments that may be a part of it.  In addition, he is prepared to assist his clients as they map out a plan for retirement and outline the wealth transfer strategies that will help ensure that their assets move to the next generation in a smooth and orderly manner.

With access to a broad array of company resources, including some of the industry’s leading money managers, Matt helps his clients make informed investment decisions based on their specific needs.  At Benjamin F. Edwards & Co., Matt does not have any product or sales quotas, and is free to recommend the investments and services that best fit his clients’ investment goals.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Matt is an elder at the Well Church in Madison and volunteers whenever he can in the community.  He loves spending time with his wife, Allison, and his daughters, Ruby, Madison and Chloe.  His other interests include reading, exercise, playing guitar, hunting and fishing.
