Vice President – Investments
James Tollefson joined Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. in 2024 as Vice President – Investments, bringing more than four decades of experience helping individuals and families pursue their financial goals.
Throughout his career, James has guided clients through a wide range of economic and market environments. His approach has always centered on financial planning and the belief that a thoughtful financial plan provides the foundation for a sound, long-term investment strategy. James helps clients maintain perspective through both strong and challenging markets as a “steady hand,”.
Above all, James believes in putting his clients and their families first. Taking the time to understand what is truly important to each client has helped him develop relationships that often span decades and, in many cases, generations.
In the late 1990s, James partnered with industry veteran Eric C. Brown, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, to expand the team’s ability to provide attentive, personalized client service. The team has since grown with the addition of advisor Ryan Donahue.
James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a major in Finance, from Providence College, graduating with honors. He later earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification in 2007.
Outside of the office, James has been active in his community, serving as a youth soccer coach with the Middletown, Rhode Island youth soccer program.
