Bring on the New Year! As you celebrate the end of 2019 and bring on the holiday cheer for 2020 hopefully you feel good in knowing that you have a financial plan for the future. If you don’t have a plan in place, the start of a new year is a great time to start thinking about working with your Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor to build a plan.

Consider making a new year’s resolution that can be a solid foundation for the years to come. While many people resolve to get healthy during a new year, in addition to your physical and mental health, you should also consider your financial health.

  • Start off the new year with a fresh look at how your finances are aligned with your goals.
  • Determine if your long-term objectives have been derailed over the years, or if your portfolio balance has been disrupted.
  • Regroup and recommit to your strategic plan for a long and financially fit life.
  • If you don’t already have a plan, now is a good time to start one!

If you have a plan in place, reconnect with your advisor to check on your probability score. Your Edwards advisor has access to a tool that can help you determine if you are on the right path to meet your goals by providing a probability score.

If you don’t have a plan in place, one of the first and most important tasks is to take time to think about your goals. What do you want the future to look like? Whether it is sending your children to college, retiring in the south, or a vacation get away in the mountains, you will feel more secure if there is a plan in place for your finances to meet those objectives.

Getting on track will require you to look at your complete financial situation. Contact your Benjamin F. Edwards advisor for help in getting organized and preparing a financial plan to help you stay aligned with your goals throughout your lifetime.
